The challenge
Build-up and break-down at Vitafoods Europe produced congestion and confusion. Limited visibility of vehicle arrivals created bottlenecks at the loading areas.
The solution
A real-time delivery scheduling platform for exhibitors and site managers, with a cloud app and web portal improving check-in and providing analytics.
Implementation
All contractors and exhibitors pre-scheduled their delivery access times, which let Informa identify peak volume periods and optimise staffing against them.
The results
On-time arrivals rose 6.5% on 2016 while traffic fell 26% — despite 15% more companies exhibiting. Carbon emissions dropped from 81 tonnes to 43 tonnes, and delays to contractor and exhibitor build schedules were eliminated.
