The challenge
Suffolk needed to standardise site logistics and delivery management across dispersed projects — healthcare, education, gaming and commercial high-rise — in Boston, California, Florida and Montana. Manual scheduling was inefficient and gave leadership no real-time visibility across teams or comparable data between sites.
The solution
Voyage Control manages deliveries, on-site resources and material inventory from desktop, tablet and mobile, with each site configured to its own layout and rules. Integration with Procore automates reporting and removes duplicate data entry between systems.
Implementation
Adoption started organically with Boston field teams in 2015, then expanded enterprise-wide in 2019 under Suffolk’s Construction Solutions Team. An automated onboarding process was designed jointly by the Voyage Control and Suffolk IT teams, and training was folded into Suffolk’s internal Learning Hub.
The results
The platform now runs at close to 100% utilisation on new projects, with 40,000 bookings processed across 250 trade partners and more than 40 sites. Voyage Control has consistently ranked among the top-rated applications in Suffolk’s innovation portfolio.
