The challenge

An 18-storey courthouse on a constrained urban site required traffic flow to be optimised across six delivery gates and three closed surrounding streets. The team also had to keep two tower cranes fully utilised for material transport.

The solution

A cloud-based logistics platform with calendar-style scheduling for booking and tracking every delivery and removal. Custom rules let the team prevent scheduling conflicts before they reached the gate, with real-time visibility across all site activity.

Implementation

The team moved off manual Google Sheets entry and large in-person coordination meetings. Trade partners adopted the platform quickly, describing it as no harder than making a restaurant reservation.

The results

Manual spreadsheet entry and mass coordination meetings were eliminated, delivery conflicts fell through centralised scheduling, and unscheduled arrivals at the gates dropped sharply.

“Voyage Control is not this convoluted process or system to use. It’s a lot easier than the whiteboard process, it’s just different.”
